Door lock/latch mechanism fault

Hello everybooordy,

Anybody know much about door mechanisms on the disco?

Cant get in the passengers side, unless you are holding the lock pin up before working the door lever. Also the lock pin is always raised and the lockpin does not move when pushed down or using the key
I am guessing it is more than one fault to cause it

I have had a little fiddle about, but everything is connected behind the doorcard. And I cant see anything obvious. (to me)

MOT isn't due yet, but asking if anybody knows a way I can sort it for now without parts as its annoying the **** out of me just want getting in not to be a 2 person operation.

Just a guess but sounds like the notorious 'spring' problem... check the sticky above on how to do it.... im sure someone better placed will be able to answer....

Classic symptom of broken sping in door lock. Get a packet off ebay, the others are bound to go soon!

Thanks guys will get some springs was thinking i'd need a whole mechanism!
