Noticed this morning whilst at my workshop that I had "left" the lights on on my Disco. On going to it to switch them off I discovered that they were "off" on the light stalk. When I started the vehicle and turned the lights on and then off again they stayed off. turned the ignition off, removed key and locked the doors. Several minutes later I noticed that the lights were back on again. This has happened continually throughout the day. I am not too good with auto electrics so really don't know where to start looking. Have removed all the fuses for the headlights at the moment to avoid the battery draining down.

Any help / pointers greatly appreciated

Cheers

Gav

forgot to add that the tail lights do not come on when the headlights come on when it is swithced off - I initially thought it may be the stalk but I would think that the tail lights would come on also?

The headlamps are not on the same switch within the stalk with the tail lamps. The tail lamps are together with the side lights on a separate circuit. The stalk has more "microswitches" inside.... so i'm still sustaining that the stalk might be defect on the headlamp part of it... let's hope u'll get more inputs on that cos what i've just said is specific for Disco 2, i'm not the best when it comes about D 1's
