I have a 1998 Disco that i have had for about five years ,it has been a pleasure to own other than this recurring problem with starting when it turns cold.It is worse now than ever and every morning i have to jump start it as the battery seems to be flat, but after it has run for a few minuits it will start every time.Non of the other electrical items are affected and this leads me to believe that the problem is in the starting circuit.I have changed the starter motor today and charged the battery but after letting it stand for a couple of hours it is still almost stalling before it eventually kicks into life.I had the alternator checked about six months ago and the guy said that it was putting out about 14 volts. If anyone out there can point me in the right direction i would be very grateful.

Check your earth leads are in good shape-try running a jump lead from battery -ve to a good earth point on the engine-then try and start it-if better your earth is no good
