Good Evening Chap
Could anyone help me or advise me on a few problems i seem to have with my Disco 3.

Just bought a Disco 3 HSE @ 81K on the clock, however the more and more i drive it, the more i find wrong or should i say Land Rovers little perks!

Im no mechanic, and i especially don't know much about Air Suspension, however when i go over a bump, not a large bump unless you class the UK's Pot holes as caverns there is a larger knock coming from the front end, back end glides over them, could this be the rubber bushes?
Also, there is vibration in the steering wheel? I assume its tracking thats out, but could what ever the fault is above be causing vibration through the steering, it not constant its just now and again.

Rear windscreen wiper motor.... *sigh* if you turn the rear windscreen wiper on to wipe, the wiper goes down and not up? "WTF!! your going the wrong way i don't need my boot cleaning!!!" any ideas?

Central Locking! press central locking on key car, locks and flashes.... or so you think, i can open drivers door once i press the lock. However, if i get in the car and press the lock on the dash board the car lock! (oh dear)

Any ideas guy... please otherwise I'm going to have to go to Land Rover and take a tub of Vaseline with me.

Regards

My son had a disco 3 and a problem that kept cropping up was the remote key I cant remember exactly how he fixed it but it was due to the keys not being used enough I cant be 100% sure but I think there is a special socket somewhere in the car that you have to plug the key in to re-charge it Hope this helps

Does the vibration only happen at a certain speed e.g. 50mph, then dies out as you go faster? If so, then get the wheels balanced (front AND rear), if you haven't already done it.
If it's not speed dependent, then the vibration could be related to the 'clonk' - is it from one side or both?

I was thinking maybe a PO had fitted the rear wiper arm on 90 degs out, but then it would park straight up, rather than horizontally...not sure about that one!

Was it a private sale or a dealer? If it's the latter you should have some recourse in getting these 'features' fixed by them. Otherwise, an independent LR garage would be your best bet in at least helping diagnose the problems, if you fancy a go at fixing them yourself.

Thank you for your help - i have since found that the rear wiper motor is jizzered, it goes one way but doesn't return!
as for the locking, i think i know what the problem is but unsure how to fix it. This is hard to expelling but i'll have a go - the pull latch you use to get out of the car yes? Well just above that is the locking latch? I have found that if you push that locking latch to almost lock, get out of the car, the use the central locking - it will lock, but i can't remember to do that all the time! however getting out of the car using the open door latch, almost certainly pulls the locking latch wide open, so when i get out the car, close the door and press central locking lock - it doesn't work, you can hear it moving but not moving the latch enough to engage the lock???

Does this make sense? or have just rattled on a little to much now - think I've had way to much coffee during the day!

your knocking will either be your front anti roll bar bushes or your front lower arm bushes very common your vibration can either be wheel balenceing or your lower arm bushes giving youfeed back

your locking issue if you lock it and you can open your door and it opens then its a door lock fault very common again
cheersmike
