Hi all,

I recently bought a stainless steel silencer replacement pipe and a 'sporty' back box for my Discovery, when about to fit it I realised that the silencer replacement pipe is short so doesn't quite go to the link pipe (the bent one that goes over the back axle). Now, the link pipe was rotten so am I right in thinking that if I got a new standard link pipe, it'd still be too short or are there different lengths available so it can bolt together no problem? At the moment it's just headers, to cats, to straight pipe and it's alot louder than I expected it to be!
Does sound nice though, like a 70's muscle car.:D

Unfortunatly there are different lenghts but only between models 3.5 and 3.9 and RRC and disco so the 3.9 disco item should be the same.

We assume that your rotten pipe was the correct one, and your new silencer has the problem.... the original exhaust pipe is/was a one piece pipe and has to be cut in half to remove therefore if your rotten pipe is a two piece then then it's a replacement and so could be manufactured differently....:(

I now have a two piece Janspeed system fitted and the rear over axel pipe and box is one unit and flange joint is just as it rises to go over the axle.
