Hello,

Managed to remove my steering box so I can replace the seals. Box is leaking, MOT next week.

I removed parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 and as you can see, they're not going back...

I purchase one of these, a QFW 100180 (just typing it for the search engines) ...

There's a good match between some components - 5 for 2, 6 for 3 and 7 for 4. 9 will tap into the box as its a tight fit. I'm not sure which way 8 goes? I'm guessing this is an updated design of the dirt shield as detailed here - http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/attac...128-leaking-steering-box-td5-steering-box.jpg

Any ideas? Can you help?

Thanks!

Thanks Cobra Mark.

It's 2 months since I did this job and the seals are doing just fine. To complete the job, I discarded parts 8 and 9 (see pic above) and purchased a replacement seal (item 1 in pic) from Huddersfield Bearings (£3).

I'm pleased with the outcome. I adjusted the steering box to lose the play the steering had, leak has gone and car passed it's MoT. Cost, £30 + DIY labour.

Would only purchase the 4 piece kit as you suggest next time.

Thanks.
