I had a leak from the power steering pump so have just replaced the pump with a new Bearmach unit. Leak fixed - hooray. Filled the system following the workshop manual and then had a friend turn the steering from lock to lock whilst I bled the system from the steering box. At first used a long socket and couldn't see what I was doing so lost most the fluid. Started again and bled more carefully. So far I have great power steering feel with no noise but now have sloshing of the fluid in both the power steering and ACE suspension reservoir?

By sloshing I mean the fluid is circulating so fast that it is sloshing around in the tank i.e. not stable as when the engine off. Is this normal, or do I still have air in the system?

I think its all normal enough. The fluid will slosh back to the tank. if you took the cap off it it would look frothy. I think its just it being circulated in and out of the steering system.....

I have fitted a new pump to my Disco 2 TD5 2001 today. Re-fitted the drive belt, bleed system everything was looking good, until I noticed that the belt was coming off at the alternator pulley. Just 1 of the vee's on the belt but within seconds the belt started fraying:doh:
