Hi, sorry to be revisiting this subject but there is that much info out there that i am lost.

I have just bought a 2003 Disco 2 but have no cd multi changer for this. I have the C42 mid-line tape radio fitted (Part no. XQD000050PMA)? and I believe i have all the wiring under the drivers seat.

Can anyone confirm exactly what 6 disc multi changer it is that i require please!? I believe it is an alpine one fitted as standard but can any others be fitted?

Cheers :)

thanks for the reply teddykiller. I like the look of that to be honest. Was it a straight swap? Again reading between the lines, quite a few people have speaker problems etc when they swap head units!!!

Just plugged straight across as mines got the standard plugs all cars have now.
I did have it in a Audi A4 before and that didnt like the plugs due to the Audi having some gay amplifier for the rear speakers, so i just wired in 2 new pairs to the rear doors.

Looking at getting the reverse camera £30ish off ebay which just plugs straight in soon as you hit reverse the screen switches to the camera.

i may well be selling the changer from my td5 sometime soon if you're still after one.. :)

teddykiller, I like the idea of that with the camera but would like to keep things simple for a while i think.

rezz, please keep me in mind if you are going to sell it on. do you have a price in mind?

that head unit looks like cracking value for the money, and having a dvd/tv in a disco that is like a mobile front room...will make it one :D, and the camera thing sounds good

Why bother with a multichanger...when the cassette in mine broke I now tune my ipod into the radio and that gives me a 1000 disc multi-changer...much better and amazing sound quality.

but what do you use to play it ? i have an ipod in my bmw with a superb head unit and proper connection, ipod tape adapters are not worth a carrot for sound quality, and the fm tranmitters ive found arnt that great either

want to get the multichanger working, just becasue its factory and i want it working

I agree the cassette adaptors are rubbish and I still use my multi changer but only cos the garage supplied a new cassette as a favour. i bought a transmitter that fitted into the cigar lighter AND has a usb connection for the ipod...it was one of the gadgets from japans electronic trade show a couple of years ago..... I have to say the quality is superb and I am pretty fussy...i am sure that quality of transmitter is available generally by now....totally illegal I guess, cos its got a range of well over 1km!
