Couldnt explain it much when using my phone earlier. when driving earlier i noticed a bit of play side to side on the steering wheel, i think the problem is backlash in the steering box. i know this is adjustable but once locking nut is slackend off how far do i wind it in?

i didn't know this was adjustable!, im in the same boat so any info would be great! I love landys :)

I better paste this instead of trying to explain it with my funny english;)
U can skip the drag link/drop arm thing if u are in a hurry though...it's enough to raise the front untill the wheels are moving free or even simpler leave the engine runnin while u adjust it and u can leave the car on wheels(u'll have the PAS working then)........be aware that a small movement in the UJ/steering wheel will always exist, do not "overadjust" it.

Ok I thought I just had to undo locking nut and wind adjuster in?

That's the ideea but u have to know how much to adjust as to not have a tight steering.....if u overdo it the steering will not come back by itself after cornering...that's why there are some extra procedures....anyway if the box or msomething in the steering linkage is threaded te adjustment wont help too much
