got to work this mornin and my boss was tryin to tow a transit van that was stuck on compact snow behind the shop with his 05 navara.. lots of spinnin wheels not much movement.. got a shovel and cleared the snow from the front wheels of the tranny so it could help a bit.. got it out..
returned at tea time in our works luton tranny and got stuck in nearly the same place.. got my 97 300 tdi disco. tied it to tranny.. no wheel spins. no diggin.. no trauma..
1-nil to disco me thinks... lol:)

Hehe, ace.

One of my pals was sayin his boss was ranting on about how good and powerful his new hilux (or similar cant remember) was, was slagging mymates 300tdi disco off. So they had a tug of war. Dropped the disco into low box diff lock and dragged the bosses jeep up the street with smoke pouring off the tyres. Bet that shut him up.:D

I brought my TD5 Disco and sold My Navara. Although i have had a fair amount of problems with my disco i would buy another disco anyday compared with the navara. I did like the Navara but with no real creature comforts compared with the disco and also it was not very good in 4 wheel drive. Tried to pull my dads Chrysler voyager out of some mud on a camping field with no joy. The site owner had a brand new navara and he couldnt pull it out. Bonfire weekend this year i pulled my dads chrysler with his caravan on the back out the mud off the same field with my disco with no problems at all.
Sure fire winner is Disco every time!

I once pulled my mate's Galaxy and caravan out of the mud on a camp site...it wasn't long before he had a Disco as well

ive had a coupke of discos and even though things go wrong you just cant beat them when you need them. Nowt better

funny thing is, round here with this snow, the amount of beat up old landies that have come out of the woodwork and how few of these pickups there are..........

had to pull a kia sorento 4x4 out the snow today. it was so funny he was sat there with 1 wheel spinning. i said to him do you want a push and he replied nah ive dug myself a rate hole uve no chance. i then asked him if he wanted a pull out wi disco he replied "yeah go on then" he was obviously embarrsed that his kia got stuck in 8-10inch snow. it was on the land where i park my disco. so i got in disco ploughed through snow and got out to attach rope and he said " your wheels didnt even spin" i replied they wont mate its a landrover they dont even think about getting stuck. anyway i got back in landy put it in first and let clutch out and ticking over it just pulled him straight out. After saying thanks to me he said "got a tip for you mate dont buy a kia 4x4 there fking ****e!" Result!!!
