Hi All

This is only my second post on here, so forgive me if I get it a bit wrong... I’ve been a member for quite awhile and always managed to find what I wanted, but not this time (maybe not looking hard enough…)

I have a 2000 Disco TD5 auto which as been chipped, and have just had the torque converter changed to a Ashcroft up rated one as the last one died (changed by JSF in Norwich), gearbox was flushed though 3 times before T/C was fitted, everything was fine for a couple of days then it started to stick in 1st gear, but it will change if I accelerates to 3000/3500 RPM then it gets lumpy with the gear change between 1st/2nd and 2nd/1st, I asked Dave at Ashcroft about the governor and he says that the TD5 Doesn't have one, so not that, I’ve had it plug in to see if the MAF sensor needed changing ( this apparently can make the gearbox hold on to first) but that was ok, the only problem I had was my engine temp sensor, so I have changed that, I also had the gearbox ECU wiped to see if that made a difference, to no avail.... thing is its intermittent and only does once, maybe twice after its started then is fine (apart from the lumpy change between 1st and 2nd, up and down, but even this doesn't do it all the time)

Anyone got any ideas please…….:)

it didn't do it last year, but it wasn't as cold, and its only just started to do it, i did read in the P38 section that this is common when the governer needs cleaning, but the TD5 ZF gearbox doen't have a governer to clean, i'm just concerned i'm damaging my gearbox as its just cost a lot to get it going again

Got myself a hawk eye now, and a gearbox fault 3174 - fault detected with auto gearbox, anybody got any ideas, I've looked at wxyz switch but don't get the lights, and when I look at live data it looks like it goes into 2nd but don't revs to 3500 rpm them changes to 3rd, it's also booked in for another oil change to see if thstvmakes a difference, will update when I have done that
