no gasket dont need torque wrench just tigthen with spanner till nipped up then 1/2 turn more as long as tight exact toirque is not necessary ,standard spanner size length is in relation to tightness of given standard bolt ,use a screw driver to lock between bolt heads while slackening other

THERE IS NO GASKET ON THE PAS PUMP AND RE THE BOLTS PUT SOME LOCTITE ON THEM AND JUST TO THEM UP SENSIBLE TIGHT;

Sorry for the shouting, left caps lock on :eek::eek:

Whereabouts in the NE are you?

Not sure If I remember correctly as I changed mine last year but is there is a rubber O ring on each pipe that connects to the pump . Regards Jonathan

I changed the pas pump on the wife's TDi 300 last month and I can confirm that there is an O-ring on the output side and a straightforward pipe and Jubilee clip on the inlet side.

The new pump made a surprising difference to the feel of the car - much nicer to drive.
