Disco Get together - Car Clinic?

Sorry could not think of a better title

Anyway... pre disco ownership, i used to frequent a similiar forum for my other car, and every so often, as a group we would get together and spend a day (usually weekend) where a few of us like minded owners would try and help as a group, to sort out mechanics and problems on each others cars.

I see a similiar theme here, whereby people all seem to be having the same problems over and over, and more often than not, somebody on the forum would have had that very same problem themselves, and are therefore in a position to help.

I am more than capable with a spanner, and mostly do my own maintenance, and would be happy to get my hands dirty assisting others if i can, in return perhaps call in a few favours when required?

What does anyone think about this?

I am in Manchester if any anyone is interested, i'm sure we can arrange a local meet or get together

Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but just thought it would be a good idea

We are doing exactly this on wednesday; 2 or 3 TD5's going to do the infamous oil pump bolt, brake discs swap, and some re-bushing work.

Might be a bit off your patch though??????????????????

done a few on the quattro forums and they work really well..........had a BBQ after a couple of days aswell

I'm up for it never having a disco before or a diesel in fact I am still learning my way about so your knowledge will be very helpful with my nigley problems. I live nr farnworth so shouldn't be far from you

Neil... i'm about 2 mins away from you....

I'm afraid my knowledge is also limited cos i'm new to Discos, but i will gladly share my experience so far with EGR removal, Brakes etc... oh and Remap...

See how many more would be interested, and we'll see if we can arrange a meet

Sounds fine to me u will have to beep next time u see a big blue disco chugging around L/H. Walkden. Farnworth way

We had one down here about a month ago. There was 3 disco's all with owners that either had limited knowledge or limited space to work on there landy. It worked out to be a good day.

My mate has a large unit so the work was indoors as well.

We will be arranging another one in a month or two.

Not sure if we could provide indoor space, however as long as its dry i don't mind.
