Recently purchased a 95 300tdi 3 door auto. 110k on the clock. 2"lift and bfg ATs on. Serviced myself air, oil, fuel filters etc. Im getting around 320 miles to a tank which works out about 21mpg. This seems very low. My previous disco was a 300tdi with no alterations and i was getting 450+ from a tank.

Any ideas guys. Cheers

The automatic gearbox will be increasing your consumption - was your other one a manual by any chance? The 2" lift and ATs won't be helping things either.

Does it still have the EGR fitted? If so you will want to blank it off, which will give you better fuel efficiency.

you're lucky to be getting that sort of mpg with a lifted, auto on big tyres.

but I agree with Langers, has your egr been blanked?

Pretty sure the egr is still in place. How hard a job is it? Ive seen the blanking plate and new top hose. Do you know of any links to a how to guide?
