Disco 300 Roof Rack

I'm looking for a rear roof bar for my disco, much like shown below. I've got the front cross bar, but now need the same at the back, so I can stick my canoe on the roof.

Any ideas where I can find one or even what the proper name is?

Are you on about the roof bars mounted to the gutter's?

Yeah, at the back. I've got cross bars across the front bars.

I realise I'm probably being pretty thick here

Bars for roof bars built into roof

or

Roof bars that are mounted to the gutters

Halfrords.

Gutter mounted bars was what I was after then ;D Just wanted ones high enough so I could open sunroofs still, tis all! Cheers!

Halfords , ebay or numerous places on the web. The Thule website will help you find the parts

look on ebay for gutter mounted ones, paddy hopkirk or similar, looked in halfrods last week, but there gutter mounted ones are for cars and too short.

Is there some special name for bars that are as high as the ones in the photo above though?

They are just gutter mounted roof bars for a Disco. If you go on the Thule website or go in to Halfords and look in the parts list they have hanging from the shelf you will find what you need

The one's in your picture look like Thule roof bar's.

I use these, but when mounted at the rear of the roof there is only about an inch clearance see pics between bar & roof (no sunroofs on mine).





I do have two unused Thule bars sat in the shed BUT I have not offered them to you for two reason's:-

1. one of the retaining plates is missing
2. postage I'd imagine would be high as they are heavy.

Yeah thats the problem I keep finding, that the clearance isnt the same.

I imagine postage is a bomb, thakns for the thought though. I'm gonna shelve this one for a bit and get on with the rest I think
