Disco 2 Td5 Nudge Bar Fitment

Hi everyone, I am new to this site and I am in need of a little advice. I have a 1999 Disco 2 Td5 and have started making the vehicle my own. But I have hit a crossroads, I purchased a simbars nudge/bull bar from ebay. It is a really nice example with the light rap rounds and spot mounting brackets. On arrival of the bar I offered it up the front of my disco only to find it met up with no bolt holes and was quite a distance off my chassis legs. I know this bar came off a 1999 Disco 2 Td5 and so was just wondering what I am doing wrong or if I am missing something to make it fit. Would love to here from anyone who may have fitted a similar sort of bar, or if anyone could direct me towards any threads which may help.

I'll think you will find if its steel it woz made for a disco1 face lift as in 1997 they was banned by the insurance companys so u would need to make some brackets to make it fit and the get ready when ya insurance company has a fit

Yes it is steel. Thanks for the swift reply. So I think there must be some brackets required. Any idea what these brackets may look like or where they fit to the chassis?
