Disco 2, 2003 Face lift

Hi, my disco won't rev above 3,000 and white smoke billows from the exhaust, when at 2900/3000 revs.She has the EGR removed with all the relevant blanks fitted, I have replaced the throttle potentiometer and the waste gate valve on the turbo moves freely when pushed by hand. Any ideas.

head gasket ?

Hi, thanks for reply. I don't think it's the head gasket as she's not using any water and oil is nice and black and same level.

This may sound strange, but I had the same problem last year with a Renault Kango. I changed everything I could think off...no change. Turned out it was the cat in the exaust breaking up. I took the pipe off, raked out the bits and it ran perfectly. Just an idea.
