disco 1 headlights

hi there i seem to have this problem my headlights are coming on after the car has been parked for about half an hour but not turned on at consol there in the off possition. any idears oh and i need a new battery. thanks.

An iffy light switch I would think, it might only be that the switch contacts need a clean using 'switch clean' but the may be not.
