Hi My 1995 Disco 1 300 TDI has developed an anoying fault. From time to time it will not start and I have to keep activating the key fob until it fires up (it turns over but susupect fuel cut off). I have fitted a new fuel cut of solenoid and spade connector and all was well for a while but it cut out on the road today and took a few mins to start up again pressing the key fob a few times. This problem only presents itself from time to time rather than the vehicle not starting at all.
Any other members experienced this problem and any idea of checks/ fixes???
Many thanks for any help and advice you can offer!
Rob

Sounds silly, but when was the last time it was serviced? When my imobiliser plays up its alway that it won't start rather than cutting out randomly. Maybe a good clean would help, have you been offroading lately or run it on the red light at all?

Hi the vehicle is well maintained so I will check the fuel system this weekend. I have read about the spider before, I believe its right in the dash and can suffer from dry soldered joints???

Sorry not saying it is:) I keep on top of mine, but over the years a few time after being at play days and running on fumes mine has played up and cut out randomly. I change my fuel filter twice a year now and make sure its never near the red when out playing. Can't help with spider, not had to do one......yet:)

Yep thanks for the idea I will change it anyway as part of the process to get rid of the fault. I will also look into this spider thing! Thanks!

By the way I have never changed the filter looking thing under the car at the rear, is there a filter in there????

thats the sedimenter im throwing mine when it becomes warmer useless bit of hardware in my opion

With the amount of crap I have cleaned out of sedimenters I would not think they were useless or it would have all been in the filter.

i thought that was what a filer was soposed to do ! my impression of the sedimenter was to catch any water from the tank could be wrong ;)

it's your choice, let the sedimentor get it and empty it regularly or bypass it and let your filter fill up until it gets in the engine.........I know what I'd rather do

but like I said, it's your choice ;)
