could this be the problem!?

had the door card off today whilst the sun was out and noticed there was a broken wire running from the drivers door handle ,since my central locking doesnt work was wondering if this could be the cause,any ideas??
its a 94 auto disco es

there is a micro switch above lock on inside that operates cl ,and servfo unit that pulls lever

could this be the problem!?
