Evening,

I've spent the whole day replacing the clutch, clutch plate heavy duty fork and a slave cylinder. After what seems an absolute ****er of a job, everything is back together but I'm stuck at the last hurdle!

Trying to bleed the clutch system of air and not much is happening. There is plenty of fluid, I know the fluid is getting through the pipe that feeds the back of the cylinder but nothing is coming out of the bleed value at all, whether we pump the clutch or leave it depressed.

Anyone know what I've done wrong? Used the two man technique to do it.

Thanks,

you might need to bleed master first by undoning pipe on output of master pushing pedal down ,holding down till pipe tightened and repeat till clear fluid out of union then do slave

I bled the system using a small 1 pint plastic milk bottle, (semi skimmed or skimmed - your choice). Drilled a little hole in the top to poke the bleed pipe through.

Then filled it with some fluid to cover the bottom of the pipe. The handle on the milk bottle can be tie wrapped up to the engine bay if needed and then your free to do the job yourself.

Last time my 11 year old did it as he wanted to help. easy!

Just changed the clutch on mine today so I know how disappointing this can be when you get to the end and it goes tits up on the easiest part of the job,

Good luck

Thanks for the replies everyone. Got the tank back on the road yesterday. Not sure what it's called but I borrowed one of those device you hook up to a compressor and then force the fluid through. This did the trick!
