changing the fuel filter on a 300tdi

Im going to change the fuel filter tomorrow on the landy as I have been told that I am getting 'searching' whilst i back off the power due to the filter being too dirty .

Do i have to do anything prior to removing the filter or do i remove it and put the old one back on ?

fill the new one with diesel before you fit it.

search this site for cleaning the sedementor, then do that as well.

Put the new one on, not the old one!

haha mistype there i think i shaal replace with the new one not the old one lol thanks for the advise .

the sedimenter is near the diesel tank at the back right ?

yup, 11mm blind bolt, vertical on the top: undo, drop off bowl, clean out, put back... simples!

it is on my to do list as im sure evryone else has who owns a landrover lol blanking off the egr , flushing the intercooler , fuel filter are just the easy ones haha
