hello finally fitted my new(ish) engine (300 tdi) into my 96 disco, all wires an pipes connected to the correct places, but there is no power to the starter motor?? where does this black wire go back to? an does anyone know of any wiring diagrams? the only wires i've not connected are the 3 that went to my old injector pump an the 2 in the temp sensor that was in the old head,my disco has an immobiliser fitted (original one) would it be this?

yes you need to find which wire is ignition live and connect to solenoid if new engine has black cover over solenoid smash off and use single wire to solenoid, starter main wire direct to battery brown wires on same starter connection are the live feed for alternator and car fuse box on passenger footwell

hi again problem was the fuse in the drivers footwell blown an kept blowing when starting,a geezer i know good on auto electrics said was getting intermittent readings an it was bad earth to starter motor dunno why?...made a nice thick earth from one of the bolts to the chassis solved the problem started first time after a few pumps on the primer, sounds a bit tappy atm so my cousin checking clearances etc other than that seems good no overheating, smoke etc
