Hi all, my 95 (N) disco 300tdi does not have the blip thingy, never had one when I got it and it's a pain checking each door is locked when parking up. I was thinking of taking one of the door panels off to see if there is any solenoids fitted and to see if they work or do some of these models not have central locking but if they do what blip would work and where would I get one?
Appologies if this has been asked before, I did do a search but could not see anything helpfull.

If you have central locking then you won't need a fob as it should work via the drivers door lock also you will have an ecu to the left of the glovebox and a central locking actuator in the drivers door void.

If you dont then you will have to purchase a central locking kit which comes with an ecu, actuators as required and fobs.

Thanks discool, are these retro fit units expensive and can they be fitted by a non tech like my?

They can be had for around £20 and they come with full instructions and wiring diagram so yes very easy to fit depends on your electrical/mechancial skills I surpose.:)
There is a recent thread somewhere on an owner having problems fitting their kit but then they were trying to interface with existing CL, try searching for that.

As far as I am ware all 300 Discos came with central locking, which as said above is activated by the driver's door key (ie it shuts down all 5 doors), furthermore it is my recollection that they all came with a key fob for hands free operation. If you do take a door card off you will see the actuators, but you are probably better off looking for the ecu as door cards can be a PITA, as the plasticmountings often break as you take the cards off!
