Hi

Something has happened to me for the 2nd time now and both times after pressure washing the underside of the chassis after Greenlaning.

The disco was not moved for a week after the pressure wash but when I tried to move it it wouldn't. I had to put it in low box and try forward and reverse with slot of welly to get it to move. It then juddered badly for about 50 yards before it got better.

Is this the handbrake sticking on ? If so is it water ingress somewhere ? Anything I can do to prevent this from happening again ?

Thanks

"Is this the handbrake sticking on" it's a possibliity but who knows, u won't know untill u have look at it.. and cleaned/greased the pivots and linkages hand brake drums are not waterproof and weren't designed to be.
Bottom line have the drum off and look-see :)

probably strip drum off clean hand brake assembly regrease ,adjust shoes then cable but leave enough slack in shoes so they dont grab

9/16 or 14mm at push for prop nuts ,large headed phillips for drum screw or small chisel if tight dont need to go back prop holds drum on,13mm spannner for adjuster ,side cutters for removing split pins, remove complete back plate 4 x 15mm bolts if you want to strip expander and take note of ramps and roller positions

sounds pretty much drum brake sticking, specially after being stood after pressure wash.

you registered here in jun 2010, you should know about Buster guides, have a look in there for detailed how to strip the drum brake
