hi all, i know just about everyone on here hates britpart and all have sotries of things lasting long enough to get it out of the garage etc etc. but just thought id let you know of my experience.
i fitted a britpart heavy duty clutch to my disco 200tdi not that long ago. ive been doing approx 1500 miles a week with a 16ft tri axle trailer on usually grossed up at 3.5 tons. plus doing a fair bit of work offroad for a farmer i know again usually towing offroad etc. towed a fair few motors around in the snow pulling them out etc. clutch is going strong with no problems what so ever and no signs of wear or malfunctun. at same time as clutch i threw a set of britpart heavy duty shocks and springs on. again put up with some right **** on and off road towing etc and yet give a very good ride quality and comfoort and dont have motor sat on its arse when towing. both clutch and suspensions where cheap as chips and i expected with the abuse my motor get for them to last under a month but thought id go for it and see just how bad britpart is for my self. so far seems allright stuff for the money!

Have you got your fingers crossed, are you touching wood with one hand a clutching a lucky rabbit's foot? Now you've said this you asking for trouble :)

haha if it happens it happens. i will then replace with better quality but will have at least proved they dont fall in bits first drive to the shops. if it goes tommorow in my opinion it has had a good innings and was well worth the 40 quid i paid for it. :)

Bearing in mind that Britpart are not a manufacturer, they are just a wholesaler you can get some real bargains, for example:

TDi lift pump, the last two I've bought in a BP box were actually Delphi pumps;

BP Clutches are often Valeo, depending on the deal BP do with the manufacturers.

TD5 air springs - Dunlop OE ones in a BP box;

TDI exhaust systems, fitted loads, excellent fit and last ages.

I was about to order a Britpart 2" lift kit, at around £180 it looked good value but is there a better sub £200 option?

I'm running Standard bp rear shock £34 for the pair inc delivery. Got full br exhaust, and other bits and bobs. Still going strong so no issues here, well until i post this that is. Ony thing i didn't buy in brit part was the clutch, went for a borg&beck for that.

They're also rolling out a 2 year warranty on their products soon....sounds good to me!

Aye and the restrictions & clauses will probably mean that if it wasn't purchased and fitted by a LR main stealer the warranty woin't apply. Like all things Britpart. It'll fall apart 1st time it's really needed.. :rolleyes:

Well they haven't announced any details yet, so we shall see! Tbh, I'd be lucky to get another 2 MOTs out of the old girl, so as long as the parts last that long I'm happy!

The problem is that for every 1 good part they sell they sell 100 **** parts.

I emailed them to see if they
1) are actively trying to improve the quality
2)give a **** about customer
3)would like to come on and receive feedback and engage in discussion.
