I was getting a rumble from rear n/s wheel on my 94 300 so took wheel of and the pad has slipped down onto the disc hub and made a groove in it. How do I get it back and what stops the pad moving down onto the disc ? Hoping to get away in caravan so need quick fix.

Hello James, More Disco trouble. Why have the pads slipped ? I cant figure out what holds them in place.

the shape of caliper ,they must be worn out to metal to slip through calipers can be bought for £30 each if needed stc1264 is smc500110 and stc1265 is smc500240 or if you want solid pin calipers like front not split pin type stc1268 and stc1269 with pads stc1601

Had the same prob on my disco turns out it was bad fitting pads from some **** company that made them up so I
Cleand up the calipers changed the discs put in a good make of pad and never had the prob again that was Two years and a change ago.

Thanks for the info James. I think they must have gone up since you last bought them, cheapest I can find is more like £40 + vat each. Unless anyone knows a better source.
