Bone shaker

When driving my discovery 300tdi 5 door on the roads I sometimes have the feeling that it's going to shake my fooking teeth out.
It seems to ride hard over pot holes and any deviation and I was wondering does this sound familliar to everyone else, it's a constant feckin rattle going on I cant remember it being this bad in my other two disco's I've had, is it me getting older as the car doesn't flow over the road, it doesn't wander and doesn't bounce, it's just such a hard ride.
Could it be the springs or dampers are extra hard or is it they are no good, which causes the hard ride the springs, dampers or bushes, the car used to belong to a farmer and I am wondering if he upgraded the springs etc.
Have I forgotten what the ride is like or does it sound as if mine is a bit harsh.............

Its sounds abit harsh to me, I have a 200tdi which admittedly could rattle milkshake out of a cow but only after i go over 75mph, other than that its a smooth ride. My mate had the same problem though on his Defender, he had to replace the UJs on the prop. If you aint already, get underneath and give em a wiggle. One thing off the list if it aint lol.
