In a month or so I will be in the position where work will be providing me with a vehicle. The current plan is to get rid of the wife's Clio (Yay!) and then look at either changing the Disco for a newer one or the other option is spending some cash on mine.

To put you in the picture it needs a new drivers seat, the alarm/locking system is shot and it needs the good service apart from a few niggles thats about it. It's a 94M 300tdi and apart from a flat battery has never let me down in the 14 months I have owned it and in that time it has done about 18,000 miles and only been serviced once.

The thing making me look at changng it is that it is a bit tatty and I do like the idea of a V8 (LPG) and maybe one thats a bit newer.

But then again I know this Disco and generally (touch wood) it's not bad. What's the general opinion?

If it was me and i to have the same model and age as yours i would stick with it. You could go out and get a different one, however you could end up fixing all the same problems again.
