Best Oil to use

I have a 2000 D2 TD5 and its due for an oil change

what oil do you recommend

I've just changed to Castrol Edge for the engine. Expensive, but I got 8 litres on a reduction at Halfords, usually its Magnatec I've used. The idea is the edge is longer lasting, but then the service intervals remain the same so I guess the oil is lubricating better in the interim.

I've also used Morris oils in the past - very good but need ordering on line

Others will have their own preferences.

Dont forget the gear and transfer box and the axles

5w-30 fully synth to B5 std - the brand choice is yours

What would go in a 300tdi with 150,000 miles? Gonna do mine along with a full service.

Anyone local fancy helping me with a timing belt. Never done a disco before. Usually tranny vans.
