battery sulphation can anyone shed some light.

hi hoping someone can help me. ive got a 93 200 tdi.150,000 miles and apart from this problem it runs excellent.Anyway ive noticed sulphation, not on the battery terminals but on the bracket that holds the battery in place.Ive taken the battery out and washed it off with hot water and greased the terminals, but a week later its back. Still none on terminals,just on bracet.Any help would be gratefully appriciated.thanks.

Perhaps a cell underneath the bracket is gassing other than that clean and paint or grease the bracket.

wash it off with weak washing soda solution to neutralise it first-then clean water-then dry thoroughly before painting /greasing
