Default Auto Sump Leak from Dipstick.

Hi all, sorry for another post so quick but it seems like ive got a leak from the sump where the dipstick tube fits on, 2 garages have told me 2 different things one is that its a washer/o-ring behind the big nut another has said that the brazing on the sump/dipstick tube will have cracked and that the sump will need replacing which apparently is a land rover only part which im guessing is gona cost me loadsa money.

Does anyone know if its easy enough to weld/rebraze this bit on, im stuffed if im buying a new sump just for that im wondering what it made of tho can it be migged ? or we looking at brass or some other unweldable metals ?

The 200 has an Olive pt.no. 236408 below the nut. 300 is push fit so has no nut just an O ring ERR3683.
So replacing the olive could be a cheap fix I hope for you.

Sorted this today, no o-rings or olives or anything in it its just like a big brake pipe union, anyway it works out the pipe cracked where it was fitted into the sump, why it cracked i dont know anyway bloody thing wont crack again as i had it welded both sides.

Bit of a shitty idea tho of how they put the pipe into the sump it looks like its pressed into it.

Nice easy job to do tho, only assholish thing was how they put one of the sump bolts behind a gearbox mount
