Anyone know why there would be gearbox oil coming out of breather pipe on the gearbox?

Happened after getting stuck and giving it some welly for 5minutes. Then there was no drive. :confused:
 
Not something I've come across before - can I ask if its manual or automatic and if there has been a gearbox oil change recently and if so do you know what grade of oil used?
 
It's a auto box and its definitely a breather and it's definitely got trans fluid coming out!
