As title says...

I have a 2001 TD5 Es and have recently fitted new discs and pads as i have described in one of my previous posts.

I strongly suspect that i have air in the system and want to bleed the brakes. Speaking to other members on here and other forums, it would seem that the most effective method is via the use of either nanocom or hawkeye.

Is there anybody who could assist with the loan of this 'techno' kit in the Northwest area?? I don't mind getting my hands dirty and using the traditional 'pump' method, but believe the kit is easier and more effective.

If there is anything i can assist with on their own car, i would gladly help in return.

Anyone?

you can bleed without try at each wheel with ignition off ,if air uo to block slacken each pipe in turn get someone to press pedal tighten union before letting pedal up repeat till clean fluid at each pipe then wheels again

Thanks for the info... as i say, i am familiar with the method you describe and have used it many times before, however, i was keen to see just how good/easy it was using the above kit. If i am impressed, i may treat myself, cos if my already short disco ownership is anything to go by, i am sure it will come in handy

Just wanted to see the kit in action really and see what its capable of.

Well I find it's loads easier using Hawkeye and the ABS pump to pump out the old fluid. It feels like a very thorough method and reliable too.

really you just want to play ,you still have to get hands dirty ,i have hawkeye too but not near you ,they bleed so easily i never usually bother just do it manual

Cheers mate.... yes i was hoping to play

I probably will do it manually over the weekend, just wanted to see the kit in action thats all. I have never used it, but i can see the benefits of having one, even just for the diagnostics side of things, might save me a fortunate in the long run.

Now all sorted... found a fellow owner with Nanocom

Whole process was very easy and incredibly straight forward and took a matter of minutes

Pedal now as it should be, lots of air from brake lines confirming my original suspicions

Very pleased with the results... thanks all for the info and advice
