Hi I have a 1995 300tdi disco never no problems but a while back just after putting in fuel maybe 40 miles it cut out kept bleeding and would run short while till gave up all together and was towed home, will start but not rev, symptems of fuel starvation, fitted new lift pump, blew out all fuel lines check and cleaned sedement bowl, came down to faulty injection pump, while looking for secondhand pump ended up buying another disco same year less milage so decided to change whole lump, all fitted but still same problem, starts but will not rev and has symptoms of fuel starvation, ran new fuel lines bypassing sedement bowl, placed pipe direct into tank to cut out filler pipes, changed filter head and filter, checked all intercooler pipes and vacumm pipes, bypassed fuel cut of direct to battery but still same, doner car ran perfect from fetching it to fitting it to my own car, any ideas as cannot find any solution as everything is now of doner car and still will not rev,,,,,, going mad here and my son is getting ready to have a landy bbq so now asking for ideas thanks..

Don't want to sound bad but have you thought that lightning could strike twice and the other injector pump has also given up. Also is it fly by wire if it us nether then have the injectors checked if it ain't that then have the tank sender and pick up checked could be blocked after that I is out of ideas other than it is not the fuel system

Try the right side pedal!! May sound sill but have you got the fuel line around the wright way? I made this mistake when I did a engine swap and it done exactly as you described.

Has your catalytic converter broken up inside and the exhaust is blocked as a result?
Try dropping the downpipe off (its only 3 bolts) and seeing if the engine will run better.
Sounds daft but you've checked every thing going in, so why not check everything going out as well, an engine won't rev if the exhaust gases cannot escape ;)

mine also started doing that since an engine swap. Giving syptoms of lack of diesel. I found alot ofr bits of plastic inside the tank blocking feed pipes. Di the same as you changed everything i could think of. Sometimes its silly things that make huge problems

Hi thanks for all your input, after blowing fuel lines out and changing feed line and bypassing sediment bowl, changing fuel filter housing, fuel filter, all smaller pipes, checking exhaust all air inlets, finally changed only thing left RETURN PIPE problem solved so nothing wrong with other engine only sticking valve, only good thing is shall rebuild 300tdi engine and use it in my hybrid instead of the transit one in at moment, but ones again thanks to all nice to know there is help out there when needed,
