All 4 ways flashing when indicating

I was off-roading on Sunday and since then whenever I signal left or right all 4 lights flash. The red hazard symbol on dash doesn't flash but it does when hazards switch is pressed. It's really frustrating and confusing for other drivers I'm sure.

I've looked at my Haynes manual wiring diagram but I'm useless at understanding them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rich, it might be that your flasher unit has given up the ghost.

Check that all bulbs are working. When you select right turn, does the right turn indicator flash on the dash, or is it both?

Thanks for the reply,

Everything on the dash seems fine (there's only one direction light on 300tdi) I can hear relay clicking (the one on the fuse box). I've just tried spraying eletrolube on all related connections I can think of to no avail. I don't know what to try next.

Turned out to be trailer electrics causing problem mush have got caught when off road.

All 4 ways flashing when indicating
