air suspention

iv been reading on all the air suspention problems and even that my disco is working fine would you recomend just bining the air suspention and puting in normal spring set up?

No.

Air suspension is generally regarded as better as long as its properly serviced - unless you are going to circumvent Africa where you will get really rough conditions and where servicing may be an issue....

hi i am new to the air suspention is there any way of testing it as i have been pushing buttons and cannot feel anything happening the car is under full warrenty

Which buttons are you pushing ?

I've done a couple of spring conversions, and I've got to say that the ride is improved with them, provided you don't just fit a cheap kit. We've done one for a customer where we were asked to fit a complete kit (front and rear including matching dampers), and this was absolutely fantastic. The Britpart kit is cheap, but only supplies the springs and coil mounting hardware.

I always find that the rear suspension on air does not inspire confidence on rough tarmac. It just feels loose.

If your SLS is working at the moment, don't bother changing it. If you intend to ever tow or load the vehicle, don't change to coils.

Also, check your insurer can get their head around such a complicated and life threatening modification (sarcasm), because most won't accept it.

I've installed Britpart/Atlantic British kits on p38 Range Rovers and I think that they actually make the ride worse, and make the vehicle sit at completely the wrong height. The LT is different in that the front is already coiled and it is simply a self levelling system, not a fully dynamic one. Also, that Wabco compressor is absolute crap, along with the inlet filter location.

thankyou for the help i will keep my disco as is as for the towing i was looking into getting a car trailer for my uther love fast fords that is the reason for the disco and playing in the mud lol but thanks anyway m8
