i know this has been done before but i was just wondering
instead of replacing the air bags is there any way just to patch or mend them.

i know it sounds stupid so be nice

possibly but why would you want to? airbags arent massively expensive or hard to replace and you wouldnt want one going on you while travelling would you?

the prob i have is just when the cars is parked i drops but it is not all the time so i thought maybe a quick patch would be ok

yes but if its dropping from a leak its not going to seal itself and deteriorate over time. Any repair isnt really going to hold up as well as a new bag and all is well until your doing 70 and the cheap patch decides its not gonna hold anymore :(

could be your sensors playing up, not sure about D2s but p38 RRs used to go down from time to time if they werent parked on level ground thanks to the self levelling feature.

well when i am parked facing down hill there ok but on flat they go down. thats why am thinking air bag, on the level ground they will be taking more weight

tis up to you but I wouldnt, not for the price of a new air bag anyway.

Maybe try googling and see if there is a patch kit available to try and see if it fixes the problem. Once they start to deteriorate though you are only delaying the inevitable :(

I read a thread a while ago on here where a guy had the same problem. He had put that tyre mend stuff you put into a punctured tyre into the air gag. Reckoned it worked OK. But you gotta buy the stuff and then take the bag off, get the stuff into it, refit and hope it works... Less hassel just to fit a pair of new ones.

Mine was doing the self and same thing, changed both bags. If you don't you run the risk of burning out the compressor and trust me if that goes you will really wish you had replaced the bags while you had the chance.

It's called "green slime" from halfrauds,I did mine & not had any further problems to date.

I've fixed rubber inflatable boats (RIBs) with patches and they stay airtight under high pressure. The problem with applying that to the Disco is that they tend to go on the folds, so its a less than ideal place to have a patch. Also, as has been said, they are not massively expensive, even though money is tight now for a lot of people.

imo you could use one as a quick fix, but replace the airbag(s) as soon as you are able. As teddykiller says, its not just the bag thats put under pressure if it leaks.
hope this helps
