hi i have a 51 plate td5 auto 89000 on the clock. i replaced the air springs about 2 months ago since then all has been ok .aweek ago i was driving and the light on the dash the self levelling suspension light came on . i stopped switched off the ignition switched on the ignition and the light was now out. so drove on. stopped and started again after a few miles noticed the light was on again . stopped switched off the ignition . started again light off the light has not come on again whilst driving . for the psst week . inoticed today that whilst parkrd the rear suspension is about 2 inches or so lower than normal. i have tried several times to manually raise the suspension with the off road mode switch leaving it on with the warning light flashing for a good 5 minutes nothing seems to happen car does not rise. i suspect the compressor is not working' any suggestions ? thanks

First of all check SLS fuse and relay in the engine bay fusebox... and if u can read the fault code which i think it's stored in the ECU since the warning was on.

It happens often that air springs are being replaced too late... If you wait too long with this replacement, your compressor has to work to hard. Resulting in a worn out compressor.

Unfortunately the D2 compressors can not be cheaply fixed (yet), so the only solution is buying a new one.

But do make sure that the diagnose is correctly and that it is the compressor that has to be replaced.

Here is the cheap variant....u can use cheap a tyre inflator if the valves are faultless in the original compressor housing Finally completed! Aftermarket SLS compressor instal/retrofit! - Land Rover Forums - Land Rover Enthusiast Forum

Hi everyone, thought i'd jump on here rather than create ANOTHER SLS thread.

I had problems with O/S air bag going down, did leak test and confirmed it was leaking, also height sensor had seen better days as the rubber had all split around the bolt.

Having changed both air bags and height sensors the car now raises ok however the SLS and offroad lights are both illuminated on the dash and when pressing the ORM button NOTHING happens. No ping, no flash NOTHING.

Has anyone had a similar problem? could the new height sensors need re-calibrating or could it be the compressor on it's way out? I've tried doing the re-calibration using Nanocom but doesn't seem to make any difference

Also there's no fault logged in ECU even though light are permanantly on display.

Regards Rich

I have had the same problem today. Light coming on after about 30 minutes driving. Stop and then turn back on end no light. Then drive for 30 minutes and the light comes back on... To the garage I think...
