You might want to check on the new tax bands - pre 2002 are cheaper. Also AVOID SUNROOF if you can. They leak. All of them. It's not a bad idea, with the discos so cheap at present, to keep some of yor money in the bank for repairs. The TD5 is fairly reliable but repairs can be expensive. They seem to be a bit susceptible to cracked cyl heads on the earlier ones. Check out all the dash lights - make sure they come on when you switch on and go off when they should. I suspect that it's the electronics that will finish off most of them before old age sets in with a vengeance. Also do a search here on air suspension and see if you want air or coils (I like my coils, but if you want 7 seats you have to have air). Obviously have a look for rust. Good luck!

Hi,
Check oil level first if it's high there maybe a problem with common rail being cracked, diesel being dumped into sump.
Also early ones suffer with the plastic dowels allows head to move due to expanding and suffer from coolant loss.

Regards,
Nige
