What is the main cause of the three amigo's never suffered with it myself ,just curious as I keep seeing it pop up

usualy wheel abs sensor, but could have a few causes faults need vreading and go from there as wheel brg can give sensor fault ,vou get three lights as abs ,traction control and hill decent all work using abs system

So is the abs sensor on your wheel hub assembley/bearing unit only asking because had them both replaced recently at the staggering cost of £475

The most common cause imo is "shuttle valve switches"........the sensors "themselves" are pretty robust, any fault pointing to a sensor can often be a wheel bearing / hub assy worn.

My HawkEye reads,

Fault 4074,
Inlet Valve Right-Hand Rear. ( Power Amp. with Short to Uvent ).

It stores faults 4075, 4075 etc, for the Inlet Valve for each corner of the car.( So 4 faults each time ).

Its listed as an " HISTORICAL " fault.

These faults are logged after the 3 amigo,s flash up.

The lights, in my case, are always reset when the ingnition is switched off and then on again.
In the 3 years/30,000 miles I,ve had the car, the 3 amigo,s has flashed up about 5 times.

I,m fairly sure its due to a common fault in the shuttle valve switch.
