When I am driving along I can hear a rumbling noise, sounds like it's coming from NSF. Its not constant at the moment, but getting more frequent. From out side it sounds like metal on metal rubbing. When I brake, I get a slight wobble on the steering and the car pulls to the right. Also the peddle nearly goes to the floor before its effective, is I pump it, it stiffens up. The brake fluid is at the correct level and no sign of any leaks anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated! Rick

Sounds like a wheel bearing. The giveaway is the brake issue too. What is happening is the wheel/hub/disc is wobbling around and as it does so, pushes the pads away from the disc. So when you brake, that slack is taken up (long pedal) before the pads/disc square up and it actually applies meaningful braking force.

If its rumbling then its probably beyond simply tightening up and will need replacement. Its been covered many times, including in the common faults area (I think there's a FAQ on changing them there). Normally I'd say "do a search", but if you do do that a recent 20 page thread on wheel bearings pops up - DON'T read through that one because you'll be more confused after than before you've read it!!!
