300 tdi Swivel Obstruction

Had a problem a week ago the steering locked when turning right!!
slowed down before hitting anything. A clunk from the RH wheel then it steered as normal. Then noticed the ABS light came onand stayed on,
the obstruction happened again yesterday so today changed the drag link ball joints.
While I was putting drag link back on moved the RH brake to line the rod end and noticed that when I moved it from left to right it was very difficult to move. It seemed to be catching on somthing in the swivel housing, as I moved it back and fore it was being obstructed.
Could this be anything to do with the ABS fault and the ring or sensor causing the problem?
Can it be fixed or do I need to replace the swivel ?

Sounds as though you are about to have a bit of trouble with the CV joint housed inside the swivel housing.
The abs ring is part of the cv joint so could well be causing abs problems.
Time for a new cv joint.

Yes the CV joint was shot, replaced now.
The ABS light is still on I think the sensor must have been damaged by the CV joint rattling around.

Might not be the sensor provided it is correctly back in place.
To put the abs light out you will need to clear the stored fault either by connecting to Testbook or using a paper clip or similar.
