Anyone managed to change the shaft seal on a bosch injection pump-apparently the drive flange is held on a taper with no key-how do you hold alignment?Getting ready for when mine fails on bio,so I can change it for viton

Cheers James-I feared that might be the answer, but when it comes to it I will try something-let u know if I fail

I've got the same concern, but unfortunately my seal has already gone.

Thinking I might be able to mark the position with a dremel/hacksaw or similar.

Also thinking will be a much easier job on a bench, rather than when fixed in the timing case on the engine, in an awkward tight position behind the radiator/front grille/wing.

Have you managed to determine the exact spec of the replacement parts required, as i'm struggling at moment. I also need the throttle shaft seal too.

In my case wasn't the shaft seal leaking.

I did have leaks from the throttle seal, fuel inlet unions and pressure control valve though, not to mention air leaks into the suction pipework from the tank.

After a few hours taking apart and refitting/remaking fuel lines, hope to have it all sorted now.

I would mark it with a dremmel slitting disk.

same problem on my transit, i replaced all the seals in that about a year ago, not a big deal just need to keep everything clean.
