Hi everyone. I’ve been using this forum for about 2 years now and have never needed to log in cus someone always has an answer somewhere, so thanks for that everyone.:D
However I bought another supposedly newer and better disco with half the miles as my old one and I am having serious issues at the mo.

At around 1750 rpm going up to 2000 rpm when under load i.e. going up a bank (the steeper the bank the earlier it happens) the car starts blowing black smoke and looses power. Sometimes you can put your foot down and kind of blast through it - the black smoke clears and power returns, however you normally start speeding towards the car in front at this point and if you let off the accelerator and try to put the power back on your back to where you started with - black smoke and loosing power.
I have given it a full service and have just changed the turbo pipes from my old landy to my new one, my old one had no issues with the turbo at all. This has seemed to improve things a lot, but when I have just gone down the duel carriage-way in 5th it happened again. Was doing about 50mph came to a slight incline and black smoke started to come out, I decided to just let it keep pumping and stayed at my current revs when the most horrible noise came from the engine  (like a loud fast tapping) changed into 4th increasing the revs which got rid of the noise came home and started typing. Anyone got any ideas please?

Hi Landyman and thanks. One for your quick response and two for you correct diagnosis. I did not respond to your post as i wanted to do what you haad surgested and your right it was the inter cooler which is all turbo related so i is a little disapointed in myself for not thicking of that one.

One thing tho, i was expecting some kind of obvious leekage and some black slime where i was loosing preasure and there was none of that. in fact the intercooler of my old car looked in far worse nick. But i have been driving most of yesterday and all today an no problems at all.

So again thanks Landyman :D
