Dear all, I've done a search and tried other means to find out the part number for the above, but failed......

Would anyone help? it's the tiny sump plug which uses an allen key I'm after. does anyone have the part number as mine has been rounded off.

Many thanks

Kate

Easy...Plug with magnet RTC4647 and washer sealing STC1060 the numbers may have changed now so just Google to see.

Thanks so much for taking the trouble in replying......should have said in the original post that I tried that very one from LR Series and it doesn't fit......which left me wondering what on earth I've got fitted to my 97 300 tdi auto????

Quite a tiny threaded hole...smaller than RTC4647 anyway.

hey ho......anyone want a spare sump plug?....shame...I rather liked the idea of an extra magnet down there

just done another search on G**gle and found this link of a member also having the same problem

I see what u mean i've just looked at LR Series site and the show a "hex" plug and nothing like mine either, so I also have a similar sump... so the quest continues to find the correct one.
RTC4647 is old, it's the only number shown in the disco parts book and also shown in the RRC parts book. Perhaps the one used for D2 is the one now required.. may be.

Very interesting as my 1998 300 Auto tdi has a auto gear box sump plug that looks just like the STC4098 that is for a Disco 2 . It is nothing like the one in my parts catalogue and it does not need a copper washer . My parts book dates back to 2002 , but the content looks older . I have the same on CD . Back in 1999 I had a year old Disco 1 V8i and it had the same type of plug ( STC4098 ) Regards Jonathan

Thanks DiscoDad that'll be useful.

Yes BigLad that's the one I'm going to order on spec. it looks just like the one I have and no, Jon. mine doesn't have a copper washer either.

I have a spare sump too (I plan to modify this one to take a temp sender to monitor the auto) which requires the same type of plug.

Thanks all

kate

Looks like Land Rovers mix n match again, as the D1 was waiting to be phased out some parts from the P38 were used, I found that my serp belt had a P38 part number when I came to replace it, so now it also has a P38 auto gearbox sump.
