Question 300 Tdi Alarm problems

I have a 1998 Disco 300Tdi ES with the 2 button remote key Fob.
I don't normally lock vehicle or put alarm on at night as we live in a remote area. About 3 nights ago the alarm siren went off at 3 am. and the only way I could stop it was disconnect battery.
Next morning I reconnected battery and everything seemed OK - I switched alarm Fob on and off 3 or 4 times to reconfigure alarm and engine started OK etc.

Left vehicle parked during day -that night alarm siren went off again ( alarm was not energised).
Now when I reconnect battery siren sounds after 20 to 30 minutes and can only be stopped by disconnecting battery.

Is there any way of disabling the alarm system ( remove fuses ? ) without screwing up the engine immobiliser as well ?. If I knew how to do it I would be quite happy to permanently disable the alarm.

Any help greatly appreciated

try pulling the connector off the interior movement sensor. They are the main problem/cause of false alarm activations.

The guy who owned mine before me had alarm problems after it was broken into so ended up braking the back of the alarm unit and removing the internal batteries. Have since unplugged and removed it and immobiliser still works.

Many thanks for your reply Ratty.
I am going to try your suggestion out tomorrow. I would point out though that the alarm siren is sounding even though the alarm system has not been switched on !. Also the only way I can stop it is by disconnecting the main vehicle battery.
I will let you know how I get on - thanks again for your help
