Ouch that is big big money!!!!!
Think will just try and find a way to reduce the water going into the standard units.
Dont want to be paying that much each time I crack a light.

Hi Geoff, just for your info, std Disco headlights are about £27+vat a piece from these people:

STC1233 Headlamp RH - RHD from MA081992

Any headlight that has replacable bulbs will have the same problem.

Cheers
Dave

Have been thinking about the silicon at the back of the light where the bulbs go in. Might combine this idea with the plastic over the openings and see what I come up with.
My bulbs should not require changing all that often ??????????????? I HOPE !!!!!!!!

Geoff, if you try to seal the lamp units as you say they will mist up with condensation as a result of the reaction of heat and cold glass, there is a need to vent them. The rubber seal surrounding the the bulb connections has a vent hole at the bottom of it for that reason.

The headlights on my disco have a small (1/4") hole drilled into the top of the rear of the light and a 6-8" length of clear hose siliconed into the hole to allow water vapour to vent.

I know BUT!!! There was no water in them! it looked absolutly ridiculous and a guy in a Jap shite pajumbo was tekin the pizz but as soon as i took em off there was no water & mud, it was in my old 200tdi and we did have to wade far to deep, we'd done it a week before and i had to remove both headlights and dry them in the drying room in Brecon next to my socks!!
This was the only thing i could think of, are the tablets small n blue???
