Hi guys, thinking of doing a 2" suspension lift on my 300tdi.

just fitted 265 BFG's, camel cut, still need to do the lock stops, but no workshop and 12" of snow outside means that will wait a little while 'till I get it into the workshop at work.

can I just fit longer springs, or do I also need to do the shocks?

Not really fussed about the fronts, as they could do with replacing, but the rear shocks are only 3 months old, as are the rear springs.

are the spring spacers a really bad idea?

all comments welcome.....

If you want, you can just fit longer springs, but without longer shocks. You'll have less "down" travel from the at-rest position though. So your off road ability will be worse.

Are you replacing the bump stops with extended ones? If not, you won't actually get any greater clearance for the bigger tyres, once the suspension is compressed to the bump stop.

Hi mate

Am thinking of lifting my TD5, have had a look at the spring spacers, they seem to adjust the shock mounting point too but i think this is just for the fronts. Didn't think of the bump stops either.

Post if you gain any info on the spring spacers.

Cheers
