Hi Alec and family, Angoulême eh? I was near there recently picking up a D2 v8.

Very nice part of the world and of course Pineau & Cognac as well.

We're in the Creuse, Limousin, about 125kms NE of Limoges.

"Have we seen any snow yet !!!!!"

Just a bit, like about 2foot !!!!

Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave
I'll bear you in mind in case I get the nerve to run the 300tdi down there next year (kids are nagging as they love the old disco),always used the Mondeo so far-Just don't know if I can get the family and enough spares in at the same time-normally go down the A28 to the A10 then N10,but presumably if I go Paris way, then down the A10 towards Poitier,I must go close to you-give you a shout when coming down in case you want anything brought over(not bringing any bio diesel though, gendarmes do not seem to like it)

We are about 50 kms south east of Chateauroux (on the A20).

Then on down to Brive and take the Bordeaux road to Angoulême.

Do you have a reason to doubt your TDi 300? I took my last one to the Sahara desert in Morocco. Took some spares but did not use ANY of them - she just took absolutely everything in her stride.

As you may know I come to England sometimes to buy Discos and then drive them back; all I ever do is change all the filters and oils and I have only had 1 problem on the return trip and that was with the first one I bought - a TDi 200 - I had a pas pump fail which shredded the belt.

TDi 300's are great vehicles and will take you there and back no problems - so long as you look after them properly.

Cheers
Dave

Ps Let me know when you are coming over as I buy bits sometimes off Ebay UK and need to get them home;);););););););)
